Blues Matters Issue 40 Review
Blues Matters Festival Review - Dundee Blues Bonanza June 2007
"It had started to rain but the Bluekings soon dried out the crowd with their excellent performance. These six Yorkshire guys really did put on a show with a joyous mix of West Coast 50's sounding jive Blues that just made you want to bop around. I loved them!"

Blues Matters CD Review October 2007: THE BLUEKINGS - Have A Good Time EP (Self Release)
"Dave King, vocals and harmonica, and his cohorts have faithfully recreated Chicago and the West Coast sound to perfection and there is not a wasted note anywhere. The music makes you want to get up out of your seat, dance, smile and just have a great time. The Walter Horton title track puts the foot to the floor from the start and it never lets up. The tracks are short and sweet, rocking jive, swing and, call it what you like, I would seriously doubt that this would fail to impress. 'Women & Cadillacs', 'Ain't Gonna Do It' and 'Pack Shack & Stack' continue the relentless pace. The twin guitar attack from Jeff Walsh and Sean Christie provide the fireworks whilst the driving force comes from Nick Leggett and Graham Allen on bass and drums. 'I'm A King Bee' and Pee Wee Clayton's 'Fiddle De Dee' end things off. I know it is just an EP at this time but, as a taster, it is just brilliant."

Alvaston Hall Blues Weekend
The Bluekings are delighted to have been invited to play at the Boogaloo Promotions Blues Weekend at Alvaston Hall, February 2008. Having already taken part in the Nidd Hall weekend in September 2007, we know that Boogaloo put on a great show and would recommend this great value package to any live music fan.
